Tuition Programs

• 1 lesson: 55 minutes

• Workshops: written and/or oral expression: 3 lessons per week: on Wednesday only, from 10AM to 1PM or 2 to 5PM. "Wednesday workshops" To enrich, deepen and diversify the training provided in our courses in subjects such as : • phonetics • culture and civilisation (cooking, fashion ...) • literature • preparation to DELF, DALF exams • business french (with visits of companies) • writing workshop, theatre.

OUR PEDAGOGY
We offer French courses whose aim is to rapidly develop the student's skills of expression and comprehension, both oral and written, at all levels Among the methods used are programmed video as well as authentic documents (films, news and TV programmes, newspaper articles, selected works from literature and theatre, poetry ...). The teaching staff themselves develop exercises adapted to the documents being studied.They implement a communication methodology which encourages intercultural exchanges, with activities such as : • presentations followed by a debate • role-play games • conversation and also written exercises : • stories • summaries • progess-reports • letters To ensure that everyone can take an active part, we limit the number of ,students per class.Extra-educational activities Extra-educationcal activities and excursions are arranged for all the students : cinema, theatre, museums, exhibitions, visits to an area of the city or a monument. These activities are prepared during the class.

THE TEAM
Teachers with degrees from the SORBONNE and specialized in the teaching of French as a foreign language. They have been working together in that field for many years and make an efficient team combining a know-how both in administration and pedagogy. They are helped by a team of teachers with university degrees and using in their classes pedagogical methods encouraging communication.

THE SCHOOL
Is situated in Le Marais area of Paris, in a typical old Parisian courtyard between the Place des Vosges and the Georges Pompidou centre. The classrooms are spacious, pleasant and quiet and there is a "press and internet" corner for the students and a multimedia space. The convivial atmosphere and surroundings stimulate and encourage exchange between students of different nationalities. The school is open all year round (except between Xmas and New Year’s Day). Our courses are aimed at : • students of all nationalities • employees undergoing professional training • groups on language-learning holidays • teachers of French as a foreign language • young ladies employed as 'au pair'

The 6 levels

Absolute beginners

Beginners (preparation for DELF A1) the student will learn : • to introduce oneself • to ask for information • to describe • to refuse - to accept • to express likes and dislikes • to express an opinion • to write simple letters • to make comparisons • to understand written and oral documents according to this level

Intermediate 1 (DELF A2)

Intermediate 2 (DELF B1) the student will learn : • to describe memories • to make projects • to write a story • to write an official letter • to summarize a text • to report a speech • to understand written and oral documents according to this level

Advanced (DELF B2 / DALF C1) preparation university entrance examination.
The student will learn : • to use complex grammatical strucutres • to express oneself in all situations both social and professional • to participe in a debate : criticize, judge, argue ... • to be able to write summaries, progress reports ... to understand written and oral documents according to this level

Superior (DALF C1 / DALF C2).
The student will learn : • to understand all types of documents (written and oral) • to express oneself fluently in all areas • to perfect and enrich your vocabulary

The Résidence Kellermann is located in the busy and animated 13th district of Paris, next to Kellermann Park, a few metro stops from the Latin Quarter and Beaubourg. Around 30 mn by metro from the school
The Résidence Ravel is located in the 12th district, next to the Bois de Vincennes Park and the Parc omnisport de Paris Bercy, next to the olympic swimming-pool Roger Le Gall. Around 20 minutes walking from the school.
Both centers have a self-service restaurant. Breakfasts are included in the room rate. A half-board option is possible (basket lunch or dinner available). Rooms are comfortable and all equipped, most of them with private bathroom and toilets. Complete meal with drink : 10.90 € / without drink : 9 €

The résidence Quai de Loire is located in the 19th district, next to the recently renovated La Vilette water-spot, walking distance from cinemas and various restaurants. Pleasant residence opened beginning of 2007.The Cité universitaire de Paris is situated in the 14th district and has 37 small buildings in a 34 hectares park. Cultural and sport activities, restaurants... Plenty of rooms for renting in summertime, comfort depends on the building. Both are around 20 mn by metro from the school.

Our greeting families are recruited with great care. The criteria of selection are very rigorous and each family must satisfy a precise conditions of contract: : excellent morality, desire to communicate with their host, satisfactory social standing. We should specify that the families will only speak with you the language of the country where you will be. It is the principle of the immersion courses!
