This special summer course for students aged 13 to 18 combines Spanish study with a holiday in the famous city of Salamanca. Spanish lessons in small classes are combined with activities and excursions, as students experience a new culture
and make international friends.
The Spanish Course The Spanish course is the most important part of the junior programme. Classes are held daily and homework is always assigned. The teachers are demanding and only Spanish is spoken in the classroom.
In three hours daily, students study and practise all aspects of the Spanish language: grammar and composition, vocabulary and conversation. Students who successfully meet the course objectives receive a Diploma at the end of the course.
Accommodation Accommodation and food are very important
parts of the Spanish experience. Spanish homes. Our families are carefully selected and each one has been visited. Two students share a room. Some families have children of their own. The families live near the school -10 to 20 minutes on foot- and students take part in family life.
The three main meals of the day are all included. Students receive a packed lunch with sandwiches and fruit on excursion or pool days. The school ensures that the meals are healthy and balanced. It is essential to note any special dietary needs on the registration form.
Activities The Junior Course includes cultural, sports and many other activities at no extra cost. A different activity is planned for each day except Sunday, including: visits to museums, group events, a day at the swimming pool and excursions and field
trips outside Salamanca.
Meeting young people from other countries is a rewarding part of the programme, broadening the students' view of the world. The activities permit and encourage these contacts. All activities are supervised by the school personnel.
Travel to Salamanca Participants should arrive at Madrid-Barajas airport before 6 o'clock on Sunday before the start of the course. We have a private bus at the Madrid airport which transports our Junior Course participants comfortably to Salamanca.
The bus makes one trip in the late morning and another in the late afternoon. The journey to Salamanca takes less than three hours. Participants who arrive on Saturday will be personally escorted to the bus terminal to take public transportation. Our staff await the students on their arrival in Salamanca. Transportation Madrid-Salamanca-Madrid is included in the price of the course.
Important: You should book the return flight from Madrid airport after 11:30 AM in order to have enough time to travel from Salamanca on the same day.
