  AUTHOR'S NOTE

Everybody knows the Cuban difficult situation for more than 40 years, further to the United States embargo over this country. However this must not prevent you to come and meet these magnificent people, their hospitality, excellent educational  level and care. Spanish is of an excellent quality. You will leave it changed, even moved.

Attention: since August 2004, the US dollar is not authorized anymore on the island. Like other currencies, it can be exchanged in banks or hotels for Cuban pesos. It is possible to withdraw money in Cuban banks. Take with you your credit card and your passport. American credit cards are not authorized.

Tuition Programs

• 1 lesson: 45 minutes
• Minimum age : 18
• Schedule from 09:00 AM to 3:45PM depending on the program chosen.
• If less than 4 students, courses will take place by family teacher's home. Otherwise maximum 6 students per class.
• Private tuition: only 20 lessons per week.
• All levels available
• Social and cultural activities organized on the spot. Included:
    - Santiago guided tour
    - Rum museum visit
    - Diego Velazquez museum visit.
• Internet and email available to the city cultural center and hotels near by.
• Test and certificate of attendance

Starting Dates

For all levels, on the following dates.

  For private tuition, every Monday.

Options Available

• Transfers in / out from «airport to your family: 20€.
   
• Our prices are available from January 1st to December 31, 2005. These prices never include the Air Fare.

Our greeting families are recruited with great care. The criteria of selection are very rigorous and each family must satisfy a precise schedule of conditions: excellent morality, desire to communicate with their host, satisfactory social standing. We should specify that the families will only speak with you the language of the country where you will be. It is the principle of the immersion courses!

Town information's

Theater of several fights for independence of the country, here, the cultures meet. Indeed, the long interbreeding of African, French, Spanish, Chinese and indigenous civilizations gave rise to a single and particular culture to this area of the south-east of Cuba. Very representative of the essence of a Cuban city, this second largest city of the country proposes to its visitor pleasant walks in the streets of its charming districts and invitations to the festival thanks to the night fairy hood which reigns there with the fallen day. Attractions: Castillo del Morro, Parque Céspedes, Casa Diego Velazquez, the cathedral of Santa Iglesia Basilica, the museums Provincial Emilio Bacardi Moreau, del Carnaval and Calle Padre Pico.

Two beaches get the attention in this area: Playa Daiquiri and Playa Bucancro. The first discovered by surveying the 200 meters of mountainside paths which makes it ever more mysterious. Also known as Playa Bibijagua, the sportsmen amateurs of tuba-diving will find the occasion to discover a marine world incredibly alive.
As for Playa Bucanero, it is interesting for its withdrawal position on a bay and is very attended by the tourists during the tourist season.
