Our greeting families are recruited with great care. The criteria of selection are very rigorous and each family must satisfy a precise schedule of conditions: excellent morality, desire to communicate with their host, satisfactory social standing. We should specify that the families will only speak with you the language of the country where you will be. It is the principle of the immersion courses!

City information

Mountain Town, its population is approximately 140000 people. It is famous for its thermal and touristic stations, which accommodate many visitors each year. Formerly independent state controlled by a prince-archbishop, Salzburg became part of Austria in 1816 after the napoleon wars . Many artists live and work in Salzburg which knew flowering baroque seasons. The XVIIe century sees the foundation of the University of Salzburg (1622) and the "Blooming of the Lights". Mozart was born in 1756 and one annual festival is held in his honor. One can visit his native house in the old city. Among its older buildings appear the XVII century old cathedral and the castle of Hohensalzburg (XI century).

The landscape of Salzburg offers many possibilities for one day excursions: Gaisberg (1288m) is the mountain of Sazlbourgeois. From its top, one can see in clear weather the Chiemsee and Dachstein. Untersberg (1853m), accessible by cable car offersa marvelous panorama of the city and the mountains. The salt mines of Hallein and the giant world of ice of Werfen are nice excursions for the families. A circuit in Salzkammergut promises varied and picturesque days. Excursions on Heuberg, in the heart of Glasenbach and the mountain of Erentrudi will please you.
