RUSSIA : St-Petersburg

Tuition Programs

• 1 lesson: 50 minutes.
• Minimum age: 17 years.
• Schedule: from 09:00 AM to 13:00 PM approximately.
• Maximum of 8 students per class.
• Cultural lessons: for intermediate and advanced levels only, the school proposes 3 modules with the choice of 8 lessons per week each one, in complementarily with the regular course: Russian business, Russian of the medias, literature and history of Russia.
• Beginners must however know and to be familiar with the Cyrillic alphabet
• School materials
• Transfers in/out from the station or the airport to the family.
• Access to Internet and email
• Guided tour of the city
• Cafeteria available to the school
• Test and linguistic certificate of formation.

CAUTION: FOR LACK OF A SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF STUDENTS TO ENSURE A GROUP COURSE, STUDENTS WILL HAVE INSTEAD A 15 LESSONS PER WEEK PROGRAM (3 LESSONS PER DAY)

Closing Dates

The school will take its winter quarters as of December 21st  2002 till beginning of January 2003.

Options Available

• Missing lessons (school closed) are recovered other days.
• Private tuition upon request
• Our prices are available from January 1st to December 31, 2002. These prices never include the Air Fare.
• Additional day in family: 28$US (also available for the 2nd person who do not follow a course)
• Additional week in family: 145$US (also available for the 2nd person who do not follow a course)
• Hotel accommodation: upon request

    ** a module lasts minimum 3 weeks , maximum of 6. A student can reserve the module "Russian for business" for 3 consecutive weeks but can also change module each week.

Accommodation: Family

• Arrival Sunday. 
• Departure Saturday.
• Room in single occupancy, 2 meals per day.
  

Our greeting families are recruited with great care. The criteria of selection are very rigorous and each family must satisfy a precise schedule of conditions: excellent morality, desire to communicate with their host, satisfactory social standing. We should specify that the families will only speak with you the language of the country where you will be. It is the principle of the immersion courses!

Town information's

Built by Pierre the Great one during the XVIII century to attract European capital, St-Petersburg is regarded as one of the most beautiful towns of Russia. Its splendid architecture includes in particular the Hermitage, which shelters one of the most sumptuous art collections of the world. It is the attack on the Winter Palace of St-Petersburg which started the revolution of 1917. The renaming of the city reflect different periods of Russian history.

In winter, from November to March, the temperature can go down to -30°C. It is strongly advised to provide yourself with hot and impermeable shoes, underclothing, gloves and an insulated and impermeable coat. The other seasons are prone to rain. The summer is often very hot!
